About Us

We live on five acres located on the historic seacoast area of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It is a doggie paradise with trails leading right off our property into conservation land, and a clean private 10 acre "kettle" pond behind us. My history includes a degree in Veterinary Technology, and an advanced degree in Counseling/Psychology, so it was only natural to blend my passions for both and become a breeder of the Cobberdogs. Many of our dogs currently serve as emotional support dogs in schools or were trained to assist an individual with special needs in their home.

We start our puppies off right utilizing the Avidog method, which begins three days after birth, and continues with a system of socialization challenges to which puppies are exposed in sequence with stages of brain development. Puppies are raised inside the main living area of our home to best prepare them for the sight, sounds, and smells of everyday human life in a home!

What is an American Cobberdog?

American Cobberdogs are a purebreed (not a breed in development), that does not allow "infusions" of other breeds. All dogs are at least 4th generation or more and have almost all genetic diseases bred out of them after decades of selective breeding. American Cobberdogs are not affiliated with the MDBA, and are registered by the ACC.

As of April 18, 2024, we have decided to end our association with the MDBA.

We are now proud members of the Australian Cobberdog Society- Raising the standard of Australian Cobberdogs. Stay tuned for our ACS litters in 2025.

The ACS is NEW, NON PROFIT, has stricter health testing standards, invites breeders’ opinions to policy, and the ONLY Australian Cobberdog registry recognized by Dogs Australia to have met the strict requirements to one day receive full breed recognition with the FCI (Australian equivalent of the AKC) and later, the AKC .  No other Cobberdog registry is recognized by Dogs Australia.

Meet Tuukka. Tuukka exemplifies all the qualities we aim for in our breeding program. Silky loose wave coats, intelligence, friendliness, beauty, and calm confidence. He has met so many people out on his journeys with his family and many have become new clients of Kettle Pond Farm! Thank you Tuukka!
